Here are some "fine" examples of ethics
Case 1 :
I always want to point this out.. but I am just plain lazy to xD
Cyclists! Yes.. cyclists, but why them? You know why the government build the road or the pavement for? Obviously, the road for VEHICLES, and pavement.. for PEOPLE. And in chinese, they are call 人行道, definitely not call 腳踏車行道﹗
But I've seen 7398475(not actual figures) cyclists riding their "human-peddle-motor" on our "meant-for-human-feet" pavement.. and they goes Ding.. ding.. if you are blocking their "way" HELLO??? they simply dont get the point, don't they? Yes, it's definitely safer to ride their bikes on pavement rather than the road, but what gives them the right to "horn" people walking along the pavement, it's as if the pavement is meant for them! Come o cyclists, conquer the road one day, please =)
Case 2:
Yeah, I've decided to add this in because it's just not right even though it sounds logical. In somewhat general terms, filial piety means to take care of one's parents; not be rebellious; show love, respect and support; display courtesy; ensure male heirs, uphold fraternity among brothers; wisely advise one's parents; conceal their mistakes (though some schools advocate pointing out and correcting their mistakes); display sorrow for their sickness and death; blah blah blah.. So, what really defines filial piety? "Oh.. I'm earning loads of $ and gave my parents a few grand and send them for holiday, while I continue to strive to work for even more $.." Filial piety? yeah..... right! It seems right, since your parents spent alot of time and money to "invest" on you, so when they are old, you can take care of them in return. But is sending them for holiday to wherever-wherever = correct? VERY WRONG! try putting yourself in their shoes, will you want to go on holiday with your spouse, rather than with the whole family? Will they truly enjoy themselves? prolly not, and the money you gave them, they will prolly save up for you! LMAO! So when they passed away(touchwood!), you inherit their will, which is probably your own money, and look back at yourself, have you really treat them the right way? instead of spending time with them, you're asking them to spend time with themselves.. haiz.. wake up please..
Case 3:
Promises.. yes.. I fear this word too! So, do not randomly make promises unless you are sure you can keep them.. But.. even if you do break one/some/all/any amount.. please.. say the most powerful word on earth: "Sorry" It usually works 96.397%(not actual statistics either >_>) of the times, even if it does fail, at least you realized the fault. Or at least, upon knowing you have to break promise, make the 1st brave move rather than to sweep up the pieces after it happened.
Yes, it's not easy to use the most powerful word on earth, but once you started, it gets easier. Just make sure you dont overuse it, or it will become useless. xD
